Explore Flinders Island: Tasmania’s Best Kept Secret

Stay in the centre of activity, Whitemark close to shops and food outlets, a short drive to the nine hole golf course with great views of the mountains. You may like to take a four wheel drive tour on the first day to get a feel of the Island. It’s a great way to understand how the Island works and what there is to see. As well you will be taken to those out of the way places you won’t normally see.

Recommended Program:

Visit the Strzelecki National Park – do a mountain climb or hike the Trousers Point to Fotheringate Beach track or swim in the beautiful water. There are lots of great beaches!

Visit Emita a great place to understand the history of the Island at the Furneaux Museum and wander around Wybalenna the last resting place of many Tasmanian Aborigines.

From Allports Beach at Emita who can do a spot of snorkelling or walk to Castle Rock on Marshall Bay.

Take a trip north to Killiecrankie enjoy the food at JJ’s on the Bay and search the coast for the beautiful “Killiecrankie Diamond”

In the centre of the Darling range is Walkers Hill – you will get great views from all directions.

A drive to Lady Barron, enjoy the views from Vinegar Hill or take a walk along the coastal track.

You may like to try a spot of fishing from the wharf, have lunch at the Furneaux Tavern or take a flight around the Islands.
